Yes! I was there in the ATX! I didn’t know this site existed so THANK YOU to whom it may concern…..

My review of this concert is extremely personal so forgive me. First of all, security was sooo deep and if you live here you already know that babies are taught to dial 911 before they talk…lol! So, I hid my camera but didn’t dare take it out! This was my 1st Maxwell concert! I was so hyped (hair did, fresh pedi/mani, outfit fly!). Laura Izibol opened with a guy playing the guitar and they were so amazing! Her album does her no justice! Her voice is flawless LIVE. 1 hour later…..

I heard the band (the BADDEST squad out there btw) playing ‘Get To Know Ya’ and I immediately stood up in my Section 1, Row H seat! When Maxwell ran down those stairs, the crowd went wild! “They were just trying to get in your trousers, trousers, trousers (insert wide base stance and rubbing of his thigh area…I WAS LITERALLY GONE!). Honestly, I fell in love with Maxwell’s music when I was a teenager/college and thought that he was just a ‘cute guy back in the 90s’.

His music touched me deeply as it relates to this one guy in college. But now, I had NO idea that he could move like that and his G&S look in person was very eye opening! Going from No One, Fortunate, Simply Beautiful, This Woman’s Work, Pretty Wings, etc and Stop The World, my FAVE song on album, unbeknown to me then, You can vicariously feel his growth as a man and musician through every expressed note. He danced around and was on the stage’s floor a lot and I loved every bit of it (BUT I was in heavy repentance for about 2 days!). I thoroughly enjoyed his music and he does have the gift of pulling one’s inner beauty and projecting it outward as though you’re the only person in the room. He was so energetic, happy, humble and just having a great time performing, which is so refreshing to see and hear. In this day and time, we all just want to enjoy the simple things in life as it’s not all about getting ‘ends… love and happiness is where it’s at. His music and aura makes you feel like falling in love all over again or for the very first time and with YOURSELF!

I researched Maxwell as I didn’t know much about the man behind the music and I’m blown away by how honest, humble and ‘street’ he is! I found myself in agreement with a lot of things he has spoken about and that in turn inspired me to get back to doing things that I am passionate about: healthcare, helping others, writing, basically ‘doing me.’ I’m back on track for attending school again, full time work and to do His will and being that Proverbs 31 woman. I too want to be married ONCE and have a family. Some people may not understand this or believe it, but God used this concert experience as a vessel! Minus the secular aspect, my research post-event allowed my dreams to be revamped & renewed as many new paths and visions were revealed. I’ve been smiling every since July 1st, not because of ‘’the man’ but because of The Man!

I would like to thank Mr. Maxwell for sharing with us his God-given abilities. In return, we should respect and honor his privacy. In summation, 2 words can best describe this Austin event in my eyes… SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!

Blessings,

Q
