Congrats to MAXWELL and His Band – BLACK is Certified GOLD!
As previously mentioned, MAXWELL’s BLACKsummersnight is Going for Gold (July 23, 2009), it is a done deal! The numbers for last week’s sells are in and Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night (current position Billboard 200 – #3) has moved a total of 54,626, in the fourth week of release .
With total sells from past weeks, 316,000 units moved (wk 1), 103,000 units moved (wk 2), 72,000 units moved (wk 3), 54,626 units moved (wk 4) that brings Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night total to 545,600+ units sold. Since it takes 500,000 albums sold to certify an album gold…it appears that BLACK is indeed GOLD.
Congratulations go out to MAXWELL, his wonderful band members, Maxwell’s listeners and anyone else involved with the project. When this information will be updated on RIAA’s website, I do not know but I would love to see a picture of it…
