Is MAXWELL the Man?

whitmax

Not that “the man” (anything negative) but the other “the man” (everything positive).

“The Man”
Definition: n. (complimentary) Term used to describe an individual who has achieved either a great accomplishment, or who is viewed as being an altogether good person. (Urban Dictionary)

Entertainment Weekly’s Simon Vozick-Levinson wrote an article about Whitney Houston and her projected first week sales of her all-new album after seven years which are estimated at or around 301,000 by HitsDailyDouble.com. Interestingly enough, in this article, MAXWELL and his first week sales were mentioned. If you remember, The Latest Maxwell News reported that Maxwell’s BLACKsummers’night sold over 316,000 copies.

Now, if MAXWELL, who has been gone for 8 years and has not been certified platinum 17 times (as the article states), can have first week sales higher than those of Whitney “I Look to You” Houston then doesn’t that qualify Maxwell as “the man”?

We shall see…

“THE MAN”…no question.

No offense to max but Whitney isn’t in her prime at all had this have been Whitney of days gone by it would have been a wrap in terms of sales..

Doesn’t discredit the fact that Maxwell is the man when it comes to live performances

Whitney is more of a studio singer hence her lack of tours

Christina Aguillera said it best….”AIN’T NO OTHER MAN!”

Now hold on a second here, Maxwell moved more units in his first week of sales than Whitney Houston?!? Wow..and don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Whitney Houston, but this is a major deal!! Go Maxwell! He’s extremely talented and has somehow managed to thrive slightly under the radar but dude, its his time yo!..lol..and he is indeed the MAN!

Um Yes, Maxwell is THE Man! The Music Man! I concur with the sista above and give a rousing, “AMEN!”

Maxwell has always been “the man”, like En Vogue says, “what a man, what a man, what a might good man.” However, the million dollar question would be, in an industry now top heavy with over exposed underachievers will he finally get the respect he is due?

I love Nippy but she threw her career away and almost ruined her voice chasing a high. All respect to her for pulling herself up from the abyss.

But how about giving some props and exposure to someone who actually did the RIGHT thing, the RIGHT way, with respect for himself, his craft and his listeners?

Are you feeling me Oprah? Are you hearing me Grammy Awards?

Maxwell is the man and in an industry where artists come and go he’s sustained his career and after an 8 year hiatus he’s come back stronger than when he left. That qualifies him as THE man!

No doubt!! Maxwell is the sho ’nuff man!! I got mad respect for Whitney like AllHeavens said, lets give credit where credit is due. Whitney’s been around longer and has had her hand in far more pies. At this stage in the game, I think her successful comeback is based on a bit of sympathy and definite empathy for what she’s been through.

Maxwell’s music has always been about life lived, not life dreamed of. That’s a big difference in comparison to Whitney’s music can’t compare in that respect in my opinion.

Maxwell is mos def THE MAN!!!

Whitney has always been one of my favorite performers but without a doubt MAXWELL is the man. He’s not just an entertainer, he is the “real deal” and a from what I have read and heard from him, a great person.

Much success with your fall tours. Stay safe and healthy.
