Check out the information below found on pinboardblog.com:

This is Maxwell’s first full European tour in 11 years, and will accompany his US No.1 album and his forthcoming appearance on “Later with Jools Holland” on 27th October.

“BLACKsummers’night” is Maxwell’s fourth studio album and the first installment of a trilogy entitled “BLACK SUMMERS’NIGHT”. 8 years since his last offering BLACK is a much darker but soulful compilation. SUMMERS’ leans more toward the Gospel side and NIGHT is more a cool collection of slow jams.

The tickets for these long awaited shows go on sale on Friday 11th September from http://www.aeglive.co.uk/ 08444 775 775
28-Oct-09 / The Academy / Birmingham
30-Oct-09 / Academy / Manchester
31-Oct-09 / HMV Hammersmith Apollo / London

If you need more information about what is going on, I stress to you to call the number provided above to be on the safe side of things. As more information comes in (dates, news, etc), it will be posted here at The Latest Maxwell News.

Chantay, I work for this company part time. I feel like I am a part of this because I begged and begged my supervisors and managers to pass the word along that this would be a great addition to ANY venue we house. Makes me so proud.

If he goes to Japan, I hope its around the same time I am going next year. I may indulge and see him again!

I’ll be passing on the info on the European tour!

FINALLY LONDON!

Okay,

Let me start by begging for forgiveness before I even begin.

But seriously, has anyone actually taken the time to look at this tour schedule from late September to late October/ early November?

Isn’t he going to be tired? Isn’t this schedule a bit hectic? I went to his concert in Miami and I loved it … but by the time the concert was over, my whole body hurt and I work out regularly.

Maxwell really gives his all in each and every single show. I know afterwards he must need a massage; he must get body aches or something.

Maybe it’s just me ….. I don’t know because I do not follow any other celebrities but Maxwell. Seriously, aren’t these shows a bit too close together? Won’t he and his band need a break somewhere in between to kind of recharge?

Somebody, school me …. please,

Concerned & Confused Cassidy

@Cassidy – When I heard he was doing an arena tour in the US. I thought the same thing. Why not wait until next year?

But with these added dates, my mind is beyond blown. It is a bit much. Maybe there is a bigger plan that MAXWELL has that he and those in the know are privy to?

Cassidy September 9th, 2009 at 7:33 pm

LMN,

I hope so, because I want him to continue to succeed and success is largely contingent upon skill, discipline and a bit of moderation.

Obviously he has the skill and I don’t doubt the discipline. It’s the moderation that concerns me. Hopefully, he is surrounded with an objective staff of people who have his “long-term” interest and well being at heart.

Worse come to worse, I just might have to stick my prayer warriors on “Mr. M” to get him through the finish line. There are still 2 more back-to-back albums and promotions on the way.

We shall see,

Cassidy

P.S. — God Bless you Chantay … Keep up the splendid work!

@Cassidy – thanks! Please do pray he and his band members make it to the finish line! I’ll definitely send up a few for them.
:-)

Just counted the dates, its not as many as what happened during Live ’08. But still…

This tour schedule is INSANE! Is he going to tour to support each album or is this the major tour for the entire trilogy?

Because I swear in an interview he stated he was looking forward to touring for the next 18 to 22 months to support the trilogy not just Black.

I hope he is taking care of himself and his band. Touring is exhausting. I would not want to do it.

I will have pray for all involved, for their continued health and safety.

thelatestmaxwellnews September 10th, 2009 at 10:15 am

@allheavens – I’m supposing he’ll be touring like he said for the next 18 to 22 months to support all albums.

ABOUT MAXWELL TOURING
Like the real artists before him Luther Vandross, R. Kelly, The Isley Brothers, Prince Marvin Gaye and many others this is how they make their money it is touring NOT record sales, back in the 60s, 70s and the early 80s when most artists would go on the road for 60 to 90 city tours or more.

These guys are well taken care of on the road. If you look at the schedule you will see where they have 2 days off here and there to rest up.

Unlike most artists of today who can’t or won’t put their all into a live show MAXWELL does, you see I would go see Maxwell without a new cd out. That is money in the bank. Think like this, how many of you will go see Patti Labelle without a new cd out? I would any day…

Keep supporting Maxwell and other real R&B Artists

Liyaah September 24th, 2009 at 7:37 pm

Do you know who is going to be with him on this tour? Guests?

thelatestmaxwellnews September 24th, 2009 at 8:46 pm

@Liyaah – no word yet on who will join him there.
