3rd Single From BLACKsummersnight (Fistful of Tears)?

Now, I do not know for sure (because it has not been confirmed) but it seems Fistful of Tears may be the third single from MAXWELL’s BLACKsummers’night album. All last week and weekend, some research was done and Fistful of Tears has been officially added to the playlists of three radio stations in the US ([2] New York & [1] Missouri).

Is this song being tested on the market before it hits full scale…only time will reveal it.

If you enjoy MAXWELL’s Fistful of Tears and live the following locations, request the song to radio. If you do not live in following locations but still want to hear Fistful of Tears (Bad Habits, and Pretty Wings) on your local radio, email them, phone them, vote online and request they play the song. Find the numbers here on The Latest Maxwell News (see MAXWELL4Play – Radio Request).

I LOVE Fistful of Tears. I’m so happy he chose it. This means we get a video! Woo hoo!

If he goes for a 4th single/ (Doubt it but it would be interesting/Mariahish, I recommend COLD)

I love FISTFULL OF TEARS. That is the most encouraging song that helped me get through my challenging moments with my life today. Every word inspires me to make needed changes in my life. I hope this song makes it to number one like the others from this album. I will be requesting it at the radio stations here in Detroit. Thanks for info…MUCH LUV.

To make things even more interesting, C do you know where he stands in sales in Europe and Canada? It would be interesting to see FoT as a single, I would have thought “Love You” or “Stop the World” would be more commercially successful.

I hope it is. It’s my favorite song from the album. “…all I wanna do is throw a fistful of tears…we ‘gon fight the war…”

FoT is a favorite, but I was hoping Stop the World or Help Somebody would be next. Especially HS for fall/winter/Christmas because the theme is so powerful, especially for those of us who work/volunteer in the trenches. Of course, I get a thrill everytime I hear Maxwell come on the radio, so I would be happy with any of the tracks.

I’m disappointed I love all songs on the album but I love “Stop The World” the most. The ultimate love song! Aww, Max.

Fistful of Tears is my jam but I kinda wish he would’ve chosen HELP SOMEBODY… this world needs as many advocates for helping someone in need as we can get.

I absolutely love Fistfull of Tears. When I went to go see him at the Jimmy Kimmel taping I was disappointed that he didn’t perform it, but I’m ecstatic to find out that this may be a single :)

Re: “Help Somebody”

I agree that this world without question needs the track “Help Somebody,” spinnin’ all day everyday on the radio! However, it must be in due season… In other words in God’s timing…

“Maxwell” will know when the time is right to release this track and as always he will be right on time! :)

Fistfuloftears is my FAVORITE song on the album!

Although it’s a song that’s wanting someone to come to realization that you want to be there for them no matter what the circumstances are; even if it requires shedding tears or just fighting for their love.

FOT is a song that a lot of people experience 365 days of a year, and it motivates folks to see what God has for them. Yep including me. Great CHOICE!

I have XM/Sirius Radio and they have been playing Cold a lot. I figured that was the next single. But all the tracks are superb!

SOMEONE STOP THE WORLD…YEAHHHH…! IT’S MY fav too but FoT…IS WICKED TOO!

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST SONG!! I will pray they do this song. When I met Maxwell at the CD signing in New Orleans I told him this was the best song, he asked me to tell his manager. His manager said it was his best too – oh i hope i hope i hope….

“Fistful of Tears” I love it but not as much as I love “Stop the World.”

“Fistful of Tears” has a stronger melody and compositionally it is more structured than “Stop the World”, but dang, “Stop the World” as such a smooth, tight, sultry groove; it is SO reminiscent of 70s Motown.

When he alternates between his falsetto and regular tenor in “Stop the World” the desire he is expressing is just amplified. Besides, he vamps the hell out of the line “We about to stop the world tonight”. It’s just a wrap when it all ends with that glorious tenor. I marvel at the man’s vocal control.

Maybe it’s just hard for me to hear the exhausting regret and pleas in “Fistful of Tears”. “Cause I go insane, crazy sometimes/Trying to keep you from losing your mind/Open your eyes, see what’s in front of your face/Save me my fistful of…tears.”

Still, it is a great song and a great choice for the third single.

I love Fistful of Tears, but I would rather see Stop the World as the next single and video. I cannot wait to see the video for it!!

Evelyn N. Alfred September 24th, 2009 at 3:47 pm

Aww, not Fistful of Tears. Stop the World is my jam!
