It’s such a PLEASURE listening to M’s interviews!………………………….. :)

The selectiom, position and variety of the tracks were ON POINT! I also like that they played each track in its entirety. Gary Spence’ questions were great and M’s responses even better! I LOVEEEEEEE that M speaks to every aspect of his HUMBLE BEGINNINGS…

This interview CONFIRMS my thoughts about M in that he’s really REAL! As well as COMFORTABLE IN HIS OWN SKIN!…………. :)

“LMN” I’m down 4 life!!!………………. :)

P.S. I WANT MORE!!!………………….. :)

Text of my email to Gary Spence on his Maxwell interview:

Dear Mr. Spence,

Thanks so much for the wonderful interview you conducted with U.S. neo-soul singer Maxwell. Tonight I was able to listen to it via computer on Maxwell’s U.S. fan website http://www.thelatestmaxwellnews.com. We, his U.S. fans, really appreciate hearing from him during his European concert tour. I was lucky enough to see his Blacksummersnight concert tour twice. Both concerts were the best I’ve seen in many years.

Because we respect his desire for privacy, we are somewhat reluctant to ask personal questions of him. However, even though some of your questions were personal, they were also thoughtful and respectful. Through your interview I was able to get a better insight into his background and early years. Hearing him speak of his youth in Brooklyn only makes us love and appreciate even more the man he has become.

Maxwell is the Truth – he’s the breath of fresh air we here in the U.S. have been waiting for.

Thanks again – your interview was most enjoyable,

Heralda,

You are so welcome. All of us who love Maxwell and his music can so appreciate hearing him being interviewed. I think this interview was one of the best I’ve heard. I’ve just recently given in to my Maxwell addiction so I’m still learning new things about him. And, believe me, I won’t ever go to rehab!

I thought Mr. Spence’s interview was probing but not invasive or salacious. In my opinion, many times when celebrities are interviewed here in the U.S. the interviewer tries to find something dirty or crass. Or they try to make the celebrity cry or feel ashamed. They try to go for the jugular and make a name for themselves, rather than being kind and asking questions that allow the listener to get to know the celebrity. The interviewers here seem to want to make a name for themselves and to do it on the backs of the celebrity. But to be honest, magazine and news reporters in the UK are notorious for being salacious. They don’t have the same libel or privacy rights as we here in the States so they can be much more scandalous.

That’s why I can appreciate how Mr. Spence asked personal questions but with tact and sincerity. He also mentioned that he was a shy kid and could relate to how Maxwell felt as a youngster. That may be another reason why his questions were more thoughtful than most interviewers. I also think that may be why Maxwell seemed so comfortable in answering his questions.

I just had to send him a little thank-you for his graciousness. Glad to know that I made my fellow Maxfam proud.

I also want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to Chantay. Gurl, you are, as Max would say “the bomb.” Every day I come to this site I get news, information, photos, interviews, tweets, all Max all the time. I can’t stand it! Every visit there’s something new and interesting.

I love you so much and appreciate all the hard work you do to keep us informed and for Max.

Be well,

Soulshadow55
