This is really an amazing interview. Max is so open and honest, and it’s really refreshing to hear of an entertainer doing what they do out of love for their craft, rather than money or celebrity. That is one of the reasons that Max is so beloved. I also learned something new about country music being popular in the Caribbean. My son in law is from Jamaica, so I should know this, but I had no idea! LOL.

Nice interview, him and David Nathan really connected. Maxwell is a blessing

Thx so much for the link back to my photos :) Lovely interview as well.

LMN thanks for the links to the fantastic interview and great pictures. My favorite picture is of Maxwell shaking hands with his fans. His expression is like a little kid whose mom just caught them with their hand in the cookie/candy jar and is about to run away. It’s so adorable.

Excellent interview! I liked how we were able to hear what Max has on his iPod, and I melted when he said he was an Eddie Kendricks fan. Eddie’s my favorite Temptation as well!

This was the best interview because it was done at a very smooth pace, not being hurried. There was an interaction with those two that just made it so enjoyable because they were just being so natural, like two men just chillin and kicking it. Thanks for posting this one.

I’m floored. I mean, my appreciation level has just increased dramatically. This man really knows his art, knows his craft and is the best at what he does. He absorbs, he pays attention. No superficiality. So much respect for Max.

This is my favorite interview of Maxwell’s to date. I can just listen to it over and over!! So serious sometimes, but I do love when gets silly. I agree..so much respect for him and his music!!

Such a great interview!!! Gosh, I love this man!
And the questions were really smart.
I am so happy I discovered your website, I’ve been a fan of Maxwell for years and being able to be finally connected with everything happening around him is just wonderful. A HUGE thank you!!

I’m amazed… and I enjoyed it… thanx real much for sharing this interview. Maxwell’s right, there are truly some serious soul music LOVERS over here and I’m sure with a busy schedule like that, he hasn’t even been able to see half of the TRUE beauty of Europe’s architecture, art and it’s compositions have to offer. I would say, reason enough to stop the world for a while and enJOY it all to the utmost on his next trip to Europe.

Much respect to Maxwell and the band. We truly enjoyed you and your music so much!

Happy Holidays, a well deserved rest and some re-energizing. LOVE & all the success in the world for Thanksgiving and other upcoming performances! ♥

Don’t know why… but I discovered that “Pretty Wings” already proved to be the sweetest Maxwell, You truly R a Blessing and I can’t wait to introduce your music to my family and friends, hoping to be able to take them to one of your concerts in the very near future. Ilulleby Please don’t stay away 2 long!

Whooops LoL!! Typo mucho! non comprendre!?!! :)

I just wanted to say that I don’t know why, but when babysitting I found out that “Pretty Wings” proved to be the soothing, sweetest lullaby for little angels to fall asleep to, when all else would fail. And: what’s even more amazing… they wanted to hear that song again the next morning. Perhaps that typo was a Freudian error afterall, lol. I’ve changed my mind, I guess we should keep that at the “Sweetest Maxwell”…. just as it should be. :)

I agree with you all so I showed appreciation to David Nathan via e-mail. He said to “spread the word” regarding the interview (and I’m assuming website). His response to me appeared to be one with great appreciation and it was truly genuine! I felt him smiling through the message-type-thing!

So, I thank LMN for ‘spreading the word’ for interviewers like David and great artists such as Maxwell. Blessings….

One of Maxwell’s DOPEST interviews ever….it is definitely in my top 4…Tavis smiley, BET Access Granted, Ed Lover and this one. The concert pics from Mr. Kedochim are DOPE as well. As Max asked on his “Access Granted”… “Will I be DOPE”??? I would definitely say that you are. Please get some much needed rest…you have been on the GRIND! Love you max! BROOKLYN IN THE HOUSE!

Finally someone who asked Maxwell some of the in depth in your face about his MUSIC. A lot that I assumed about maxwell’s creation of his work was BROUGHT out of him in this interview. That’s why I blogged so much in the past wondering about what inspired maxwell’s art in how he composed music and how he was emotionally relaying it to his audience (primarily female based).

Funny he mentioned his appreciation for country music from the Caribbean culture for Michael Jackson had always said that his mother raised him in listening to country music.

Country music has some of the best stories in their lyrics.

Jazz is pretty big in New York City. However, jazz clubs and jazz radio stations are sprinkled all over the city. If any of you come to New York or you live in the NYC area, please check out Jazz at the Lincoln Center.

Also this use of the windshield wipers as an instrument/rhythm is similar to something that MIchael Jackson had said to Rodney Jerkins where he wanted to create a new music instrument/sound.

I think that documentary is on the CD/DVD version which I have but I never looked at the DVD. : X

Thank you so much LMN for always keeping us informed.

I appreciate it.

The best interview Max has given and props to David Nathan for asking the right questions and keeping the interview at an even, smooth pace.

I’ve found if the interviewer keeps it real, knows his music and asks interesting though sometimes probing questions; Max will open up because he feels he has found a kindred spirit as far as the MUSIC is concerned.

And Max is right the Isley Brothers’ “Beautiful Ballads” Volumes 1 & 2 is all that, a bag of chips and a thick creamy milk shake. “Make Me Say It Again Girl” (Parts 1 & 2), oh my, oh, my, oh, my.
