Ckimyonw January 19th, 2010 at 11:49 am

This is great. I remember someone trying to get us to send emails to the Oprah show to have Maxwell on. Though this is an unfortunate situation for Haiti, I am excited to see Maxwell on the show, and hopefully it will make a difference for Haiti.

Sandra January 19th, 2010 at 12:56 pm

Oh I see its for Haiti…

If he sings he’ll probably sing “Help Somebody”
I’m happy to hear he’s gonna be on Oprah! Can’t wait to see it!

GGTORONTO January 19th, 2010 at 1:50 pm

I hate Oprah but I’ll watch for my Maxwell!!!!

Arnita Blowe January 19th, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I already sent an e-mail to Oprah asking to have him perform on her show… :-)

THIS will be an AMAZING show!! Maxwell, Rihanna, Wyclef Jean, with Maxwell’s FIRST appearance EVER on Oprah!! Looking forward to tomorrow’s show…A WINNER!! Thank you, Maxwell, and Thank you, Oprah, for finally requesting the beauty of Max’ presence!! Great info, LMN!!

vizionheiry January 19th, 2010 at 4:55 pm

A bit sad that Maxwell’s exposure to a “mainstream audience” comes on the heels of the devastation in Haiti.

Mia January 19th, 2010 at 4:59 pm

I’m so excited! Wyclef Jean and Maxwell make sense, but where does Rihanna fit? What will she perform?

thelatestmaxwellnews January 19th, 2010 at 5:09 pm

@Mia maybe she’s also involved with helping Haiti? I think I read somewhere that she was amongst celebs who donated to Haiti.

:)

I think that it is wonderful that MAXWELL will be on Oprah…it is even more wonderful that he will be there to help HAITI…sorry that it was not under happy circumstances that brought him to the show…maybe he will have his own sit down with O but I think this show is rightfully dedicated to helping the devastated people of HAITI…my sincerest prayers for the people of HAITI…

tee January 19th, 2010 at 5:53 pm

All these ppl with Caribbean roots … I guess that’s where Rihanna fits in…

NEfan$life January 19th, 2010 at 6:42 pm

I’ve been wishing and wishing Maxwell will be on Oprah. I’ve sent emails and tweets. I’m happy he will be on Oprah but it’s for an unfortunate reason so this will not be the show I’ve wished for. Anyway, I’m happy for him. Hopefully O has listened to his CD and Gayle will convince her to bring him back under different circumstances. Gayle is the music influence to Oprah.

Arnita Blowe January 19th, 2010 at 9:22 pm

This show will air tomorrow…I’m looking forward to watching it!!! :) I also agree that I wish it was under happier cimcumstances…

Nikkie January 19th, 2010 at 10:22 pm

I am so excited! It is great that Maxwell is appearing on Oprah tomorrow. For one who is not all caught up craze of being famous, I think the purpose for his appearance is befitting of his personality. It’s wonderful for him to be “introduced” to the rest of the world as a humanitarian for love and compassion that he truly has for others and not only as a great musician.

I’m surprised that he is not singing Help Somebody.

I saw it.

I think Maxwell had a moment at the end of the performance. I feel ya, babe.

sandra January 20th, 2010 at 7:53 pm

He def. had a moment…beautiful!
I Cried…
I Love that song sooooo much!

LindaT. January 20th, 2010 at 7:59 pm

Michelle D.A., he certainly had an emotional moment.

Les January 20th, 2010 at 8:34 pm

Perforance was great! Very proud of Max! Perseverence is key – even after the cameras have left

heavencynt January 20th, 2010 at 9:36 pm

You know I am thankful that Maxwell was on the Oprah show but baby I cannot wait until this big hunk of sex appeal is on the Monique Show…. I don’t think the world is ready for that but I most definitely am…

Paula January 20th, 2010 at 10:53 pm

Loved the performance, enjoyed the way he changed the tempo a little so that the beat was driving with the feeling and momentum of the words of the song. Excellent performance Max, and thanks for letting the world know how personal and immediate Haiti is.

sandra January 20th, 2010 at 10:57 pm

Heavencynt I feel you on that one! He needs to get his FINNNE ass on the Mo’nique show so we can see his flirtatious/fun/humorous side. And get a more in depth chat- you know Mo will be ALLL in his business. loll

WordsFromDWise January 20th, 2010 at 11:14 pm

Thanks for posting this video. I had to watch it on my phone during a dinner break, and it was awesome. Was he trying to make us cry at the end? I got a little misty. I’m glad he dropped some knowledge on viewers, too. Haiti is economcally poor but rich in history. I know Oprah is as much in love with Max as we are. And I bought Fistful of Tears AGAIN to support Haiti.

Arnita Blowe January 21st, 2010 at 12:15 am

Great performance!!! :-) I’m sure that the hugs from Oprah were a comfort to him.

Miss Dee January 21st, 2010 at 12:50 am

@ Arnita, Yesss! didn’t Ms. O hug him as if to say “I feel your pain and it’s gonna be ok baby!” Very Nice performance.

Looking forward to seeing him back on Oprah B4 she calls it quits.

delphine nichols January 21st, 2010 at 6:48 am

I had to work but I set my dvr player to tape it while I was gone awesome performance Maxwell I cried a little I hope Oprah has him on again.

Dawn January 21st, 2010 at 7:37 am

It was great to see Maxwell, Rihanna, and Wyclef on the Oprah Show! This week has been a little sad for me because I know alot of people from there. It was heartbreaking and devastating to hear the news and it’s great to know that people like Maxwell and many others truly care. My heart and prayers go out to Maxwell and everyone that has connections to this region of the world. This natural devastation is not about just them, but all of us. May God’s loving kindness and presence comfort them in this time of great need.

Lastly, congratulations to Maxwell for such a triumphant return! We are waiting impatiently for his new album.

Peace,
Dawn

I was glad to see Maxwell looking fit, rested and healthy again. Towards the end of his BSN tour he was getting a little thin and looked like he needed some rest. Max is doing a great job in supporting Haiti. At the end of his perfomance, I felt like crying too. Instead I got on the phone and called in another donation. We can’t do enough to help our people in need. Okay now I’m broke, but it feels so good to “Help Somebody”.
