Congratulations Max (Sugar, Chocolate, Honey, Baby). Long over due but well worth the wait, I’m sure. You now have something to place on your mantel:) I can’t forget “TGBE” because the lyrics for the songs are great, however, it’s the music that make the songs “phenomenal”! Continued success and continue to “just do you.”

I would like to thank LMN for posting this, as most of us were waiting to see Maxwell accept an award as we watched for 3 hours, to find out they weren’t going to air it… but happy to see him perform.

Max was so genuine in accepting his awards. It’s so refreshing to see someone with his gifts carry himself so “beautifully human,” as Jill Scott would say.

sillithea February 1st, 2010 at 1:07 pm

Congrats to you and the band, thank you for real music. Your music is refreshing to the soul. Thank God for making such a beautiful person. Love you Max!!!

luvsmesommaxwell February 1st, 2010 at 2:54 pm

I’ve been happily watching the acceptance speech videos again and again just to see the look on Maxwell’s face as he accepted his Grammy awards. The look seems to be a mixture of surprise, humility, caged excitement, wonder and a bit of relief. Maxwell has worked so darn hard over the past year. He’s put in a lot of hustle, hard work, travel and probably many sleepless nights. He deserves the awards and recognition.

It’s been incredible to watch him grow as an artist; to evolve but stay true to himself as he’s done over the past 13 years or so.

Winning the Grammys is all well and good – they are certainly solid validations of his work by his peers. But what sticks with me is his determination to do the kind of music he felt in his soul and to know that if he stayed on HIS course, the audience would feel it too. Last night, the Grammy’s finally felt it as well.

As everyone else has already said, congratulations brutha Maxwell. You are truly the Truth!

SoulGirl February 2nd, 2010 at 5:46 pm

Maxwell you are a very incredible singer and I wish you the best. Those grammys were a huge accomplishment for you, and I hope that you just continue to make more number one albums in the country. Sexy is what you will always be, and nice haircut. It shows how much of a grown man you transformed into, it’s just so damn sexy!!!

Toglen February 2nd, 2010 at 8:47 pm

Much deserved Maxwell!!!! I am so happy he’s rewarded for an amazing record. See you next year when you win another Grammy!

Wallflower February 3rd, 2010 at 12:33 am

Maxwell looked so cute. He looked like a little kid who was ready to have his day in the sun. I still think he should have got Song of the Year for “Pretty WIngs.” Just my opinion. Congratulations Maxwell! Let your blessings flow!
