Maxwell and Jill Scott to Tour Starting This May (2010)

According to Maxwell’s newsletter, he and Jill Scott (singer-songwriter, actress and designer) will hit some 20 cities here and there across the U.S., starting May 21, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio on an arena tour. More dates to be announced through the month of June. Details on dates, venues and on-sale information will be announced shortly for tour stops in those 20 U.S. cities including:

The Last and Only time I saw Jilly from Philly was back in 2000 when she and a couple other ladies (inc Erykah Badu) came down. She stole the show, Erykah couldn’t even get the crowd on her side after Jill’s performance.
I am looking forward and hoping she’ll open in T.

I’ve seen Maxwell 5 times in the last 16 months and he NEVER disappoints. This time, he will be Grammy-award winning Maxwell! I’ll have to postpone my plans for Vegas until I know for sure when he’ll be in D.C. Can’t wait!

WOWZA!!! What exciting news! I can’t wait for those tickets to go on sale. The last time Jilly was in DC she completely turned it out and Maxwell was ridiculous when he came through this summer. @ Michelle, the tickets were somewhat pricey when I saw him Sept 09 in DC. I paid around $125 for floor seats (about 10 rows back). The first few rows were around $160-170. It also depends on where you are my Girlfriend saw him in NYC and hit around $200+. Save ur coins honey!!! LOL

I’m not planning on getting like seats way up in the front which will most likely be expensive but seats where I can see and hear him well.

I’d LOVE to see this, but $170 for a just-ok seat in a crappy venue (Key Arena)? Um, no. Maybe at the opera house, but not at an arena. The cheap seats (which, at Key, are really bad) are over $50! That’s insane!

I can’t believe Maxwell added Erykah Badu to the latest date in Atlanta! That is so unfair. I want to see Erykah Badu as well as Jill Scott! Since we were the original show on June 12th, shouldn’t we get to see both Jill and Erykah? Maxwell, you should reward us for selling out the first show by giving us Erykah and Jill! IT’S ONLY FAIR!!

This news sucks. Jill Scott is a bigoted hateful person. I cannot believe Max would associate himself with someone who stands for discriminating against interracial couples. If you are in a mixed relationship, do not go to this show. She has called couples out in her shows before and made them so uncomfortable they have left. This will be the first show I will miss of Max.

Disappointed that the July 9th concert in Columbus, Ohio has been canceled/rescheduled without any additional information on whether the show is going to be rescheduled or not. I was looking forward to seeing this concert…

I too am extremely disappointed at this cancellation. I missed the last time Maxwell was in Columbus,Oh. Out of all the concerts I’ve been to this year. This would of taken the cake. Had a sister schedule a day off for this concert and now its not going to happen. Sooooo disappointed.

So enjoyed the concert performed here in Atlanta will Maxwell and Eryka Badu. I am a huge Maxwell fan and so glad the show was not cancelled. I do hope they restart the show for all the loyal fans.
