His mother, grandmother as well as the rest of his family must be so proud. I’m not even related to him and I’m beaming!!!!

Singing for the First Family has got to be the most exciting concert ever for him. Brooklyn in the (White) House!!!

I’m so proud of Maxwell. I know he did a marvelous job. Look at my baby singing with such talented people. He deserves this so much. He must have made quite an impression on Mrs. Obama!

This is wonderful! I’m so glad Maxwell was chosen to be a part of this concert. I’m sure he’ll remember this experience for many years to come.

Cindy December 13th, 2010 at 11:17 am

Oh how handsome…I know for a fact he was nervous but from the pics – it looks like he did us proud…that’s our boy!! Blessing are shining bright! Thx for posting Chantay!!

jrl December 13th, 2010 at 12:55 pm

He may be that ‘Brooklyn boy’ on the outside; However, on the inside there is a heart of gold. His music has touched so many in such a positive way. This is where his spirit belongs in the light of class. His spirit is so loving and humble, it literally makes me want to cry. And, of course, thank you Chantay for sharing and up dating us with the latest news of this wonderful man. Love, Love, Love.

Chantay, you are the best!!! You always keep us informed of Maxwell’s happenings and you’re always on time with it!! These pictures of him are fabulous! And I ditto the remarks of “JRL”! :-)

Kym December 13th, 2010 at 7:22 pm

Once Again Thanks Chantay for these great pics, and so quick. He is very handsome in his Tux, and I’m sure he did a great job. I agree with you SoulShadow55, I’m beaming for him too. Can’t wait to watch and record and watch again :)

OutofControl December 13th, 2010 at 8:11 pm

Chantay, I saw these pictures at 6:30 this morning when I arrived at the office and my day was made:) I’m anxiously awaiting Friday’s arrival so I can see and hear Max. If he doesn’t think he has “arrived” this should erase all doubts:) There are a lot of singers in this country who haven’t been invited to sing for an event with the First Family in attendance. How special and how deserving for Max. As was stated earlier, Max’s family must be soooooo proud of him, as are we.
And Ms. Chantay, what can be said about you? You are simply the “best.” We love you and appreciate you for keeping your finger on the pulse of “all things Maxwell” and for sharing the same with us. Here’s wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy (and safe) New Year.

Clarissa December 15th, 2010 at 12:54 pm

Here are some promo videos from the special. The first is a medley that includes Maxwell singing “Silent Night”, and the second is a clip of Maxwell singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Clarissa and Chantay: A million thanks! Just as we knew he would be — “superb.”

Kym December 15th, 2010 at 10:37 pm

Clarissa, That was a nice preview. Can’t wait until Friday !!!!!

Martine Nadège NGO MAKONDO December 17th, 2010 at 3:03 am

please excuse me but I have a geek question
what should happen on friday????
thks!!!!

Joseph cabral December 17th, 2010 at 8:52 pm

GOD, they should have had Bocelli Sing the whole show. The rest whisper and scream. These folks will never ever touch the real talent of the great generation days. The 40′s to the 60′s.

Oh yeah Merry Christmas

Lire December 18th, 2010 at 7:16 am

He did a good job and his voice sounded better than I’ve heard it on tv in a long while. Though his nerves were clearly getting him. He did that nervous fall back thing of “help me sing this y’all” which took the professionalism down a notch. It was good to watch though.

Steph December 18th, 2010 at 10:30 am

I have to say, I’m not really feeling the suit; the jacket is too short. I think he might have been really nervous that night (who wouldn’t? It was the President.). Well he’ll get that together when he goes back for the Motown tribute.

Miriam December 18th, 2010 at 11:51 am

I did not get to see the show last night; I hope it will be re-broadcasted soon. I know Maxwell was great because he is a great talent, an excellent entertainer and just a special person who is quite the professional.

Dawn December 18th, 2010 at 8:30 pm

Wow…another Maxwell sighting…truly beautiful and perfectly magical for the season. Please don’t keep your wonderful fans waiting for the next album in your trilogy. You are torturing us…

Happy Holidays!

Peace, Love and Blessings,
Dawn

P.S I am so happy that “The Beautiful First Family” invited him to sing with such an excellent lineup of singers.

Tina December 18th, 2010 at 10:33 pm

Maxwell did a great job on his performance. His voice sounded very sweet and clear. And I like how he got a little churchy at the end. He did appear to be a little nervous at first but he got over that quickly.

Tina December 18th, 2010 at 10:44 pm

I just have one request from Maxwell. Quit dressing like a geek, nerd, Steve Erkelish!
It’s as if he’s trying to hide all his sexiness. Why??? Is that supposed to be some kind of disguise. Well brotha I see right through you! Quit playing around and bring your sexy back! I KNOW how fine and sexy you really are. So if I see you walking down the streets in New York looking like that you will STILL be approached. Ha Ha!

Suzanne December 19th, 2010 at 2:02 am

Max is channeling the 60′s I see. He’s got that bookish Ruffin look going on. I actually like it. Can’t wiat for the SUMMERS edition of the trilogy. Good luck to him!

S December 21st, 2010 at 3:25 pm

You sounded beautiful Max! Poised, warm, very nice moments where your voice just rang through the hall. That was probably the most intimadtin audience ever so I get the nerves completely. Remember to breathe! You are so deserving of that honor!

S December 21st, 2010 at 3:26 pm

intimadtin= intimidating. lol.

anyhoo, great job!

Ms. C December 21st, 2010 at 9:20 pm

Maxwell is Blessed and highly favored he has arrived and like I said before and I’ll say it again this is something he will be sharing with his future kids and their kids! ; ) LuvmesumMax! Makes me proud of my black men in the music industry!

Dawn December 23rd, 2010 at 9:05 am

I could not wait to see and hear Maxwell sing for this special event at the White House! I could tell Maxwell was very nervous when he first started singing (hense the glasses). But, he quickly bounced back. I think it is refreshing to see someone as humble as Maxwell still get butterflies after all these years. He doesn’t have this arrogant celebrity thing which is great. I absolutely LOVE his music and wish him all the best for 2011.

Merry Christmas :)

Phonecia December 23rd, 2010 at 7:07 pm
