Maxwell to Perform at the 2013 ESSENCE Festival

Maxwell is one of the headliners for the upcoming ESSENCE Festival (formerly Essence Music Festival) taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 4-7, 2013. If you’ll remember, Maxwell made an appearance at the festival in 2009. For a look back at that piece of history, click here. Jill Scott, New Edition, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, LL Cool J and Brandy are also on the roster for this year.

I notice in looking at all of Maxwell’s concert videos he does a lot of talking then sing! He may sing a verse here and there, but a lot of talking to the audience. Me, I prefer a simple how is every one doing! Then just sing;later with all that talking to the audience.. I’m just saying. Still dig him, but wouldn’t go see him.

I enjoy when Max interacts with the crowd. He makes you feel like you are sitting in your living room and he is performing just for you. Seeing him live is well worth the money. I have been to 8 Maxwell concerts and he always gives it his all as well as his band. I can’t wait for the next cd to be released. If the ‘GODS’ teaser is any indication, it’s going to be a monster hit!
