Hello everyone,

I am sure you are aware by now, Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake, Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Millions of Haitian people have been affected by this tragedy. Homes, businesses, schools and so on have been destroyed. Lives have been lost, women, men and children. It has been reported via Associated Press that upwards to one-third of Haiti’s 9 million people may need emergency aid as soon as possible. There is also news that a Tsunami may hit.

The Latest Maxwell News is encouraging you to give towards this cause. There are several different ways that you can assist and help somebody. There are many organizations you can donate monies to and it can be as simple as sending a text message. Below, there are several different organizations linked that are currently accepting aid.

October 28, 2009 , LMN received a message from Kim M. of (RED) regarding the post MAXWELL: RED-hot Giving. There was some concern that we may not get to hear the song MAXWELL f/Nas (its either a Pretty Wings Remix, the Help Somebody Remix or other). We are ALL in luck! The song (as well as the others mentioned on page 66 of the November 2009 Essence magazine) will be available as soon as next month. Possibly for December 1, 2009, World AIDS Day?

CNN Heroes, a TV special, will air Thanksgiving weekend (November 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), globally. It will honor people who have made exceptional strides in helping those in need. Excited to hear Help Somebody will be included in the promotion. Hooray, for MAXWELL and all those associated.

Seems like things are beginning to kick into gear full scale where those who admire the singer’s music can see the goings-on of the Help Somebody campaign. Last year in February, when the singer was active on MySpace, he wrote a blog entitled help SOMEBODY.

help SOMEBODY
i’m sure most of you have been made aware of the growing poverty of HAITI. its so bad that many have resorted to actually eating pies made out of mud. i can’t tell you how much this disturbs me. over the years i have been involved in helping the cause not only because of my deep rooted connection to HAITI but because no woman, no man, and no child should ever be hungry enough to eat dirt.

i received a very cherished invitation to the annual amFAR awards ceremony. an organization dedicated to fighting the spread of HIV aids. notable artist and director JULIAN SCHNABEL asked me to attend to see him receive the honor for his outstanding work in the fight for aids research.

BOBBY SHRIVER was also honored for his part in creating the ‘RED’ campaign which has been picked up by the GAP, APPLE and countless other manufactures. it has helped to raise millions against this dreadful disease. its far from over so if anyone wants to help go to http://www.amfar.org

I know for a fact, many of you who frequent The Latest Maxwell News/LMN gave at that very moment. You heard that a nation was in need and you understood the message and you gave to ALL organizations. Very commendable. Just launched the Help Somebody/Give page here on this site. It is a page mentioning different organizations that Maxwell has current or previous dealings with.
